Wayfarers | PHEMAS is excited to announce the launch of the SG HEMA League, with its inaugural edition taking place on the 13th of September, 2026.
The Singapore HEMA League is designed to create a pathway for fencers in Singapore and the wider Southeast Asian region to gain competitive experience, build confidence, and develop the skills to compete internationally, while fostering a stronger and more active local HEMA community.
This iteration will only have an Open Longsword category. Our ruleset will be adapted from War in the West (approval has been gained from their organisers, Ursa Major), one of the more established formats in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) scene, ensuring a relevant and competitive structure for local fencers. Additionally, all participants will be required to serve as a side judge.
Please take note that this is a Bring-Your-Own-Sword event, only European Longsword Simulators will be permitted for use. Fencers are also required to bring their own protective equipment (specifications can be found below in Armour / PPE requirements). Loaner longswords and protective equipment are available in limited quantities and will be subject to a rental fee. Participants requiring loaner gear are advised to contact the event organisers in advance to check availability and make the necessary arrangements.
Lastly, please be aware that the event will not be HEMArated, as we want to keep the early editions accessible and development-focused.
